The Courses on offer are Level 1 or Level 2 First Aid Certificates and Paediatric 2 hour and 6 hour courses. Some courses have speciality topics added to the basic requirements. The extra topics are noted in the table below. The Community First Aid Course are being presented by 1st Strathmore Scouts, to help improve the knowledge and skills in the community of CPR and a wide range of other first aid skills. We have received support from a number of  organizations and businesses in the community. The main supporter is the Strathmore Community Bank. All training will be conducted by ‘First Aid Consultants and Training’, a company with over 30 years experience in Ambulance & providing first aid training for corporate groups, private groups, school staff, child care and community groups. Their lecturers are experienced Ambulance Paramedics & Nurses (all hold ‘Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training’) and bring to each session a wide range of experiences that are second to none. A  nationally recognized ‘Statement of Attainment’ will be issued by First Aid Consultants & Training for all courses registered through the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority. Strathmore Community Bank (Bendigo Bank) have made available grants to provide these courses at a much reduced prices to members of our community. Below are the standard prices and our prices after the correspnding grants: Level 1 $75.00 to $20.00 Level 2  $170 to $40.00 Paediatric 2 hr Course $28.00 to $15.00 Paediatric 6 hr Course $70.00 to $20.00         Level 1 First Aid  Course COURSE CODE L1-09a Provide Basic Emergency Life Support  (Cost $20.00)   HLTFA210A -Approach to an Incident  - Management of Bleeding & Shock - Resuscitation  Techniques  - Asthma & Breathing   - Personal Hygiene & Infection Control  - First Aid Legislation & Documentation Duration: 6 hours Level 2 Fist Aid Course COURSE CODE L2-09b Apply First Aid  (Cost $40.00) HLTFA301B - Approach to an Incident  - Lifting & Moving Techniques - Resuscitation Techniques - Fractures, Soft Tissue & Spinal Injuries - Personal Hygiene & Infection Control  - Environmental Emergencies - Management of Bleeding & Shock  - Burn Emergencies - First Aid Legislation & Documentation      - Neurological Emergencies - Assessment & Referral Procedures - Breathing Emergencies - Management of Wounds - Medical Emergencies Duration:12 hours   Paediatric Course (Non-accrediated) COURSE CODE 3-09 (Cost $15.00) A two-hour course  It covers: Care of the unconscious child Child & infant resuscitation Choking Febrile convulsions Calling an ambulance   Paediatric Emergency Care (6 hour course) COURSE CODE 4-09 (Cost $20.00) A six hour course which provides participants with an understanding of child injury prevention and basic resuscitation and first aid skills.   Meets ‘Children’s Services Regulations 1998 guidelines for first aid training’ and covers: -Care of the unconscious child -Child & infant resuscitation -Airway management inc: Asthma, Croup & Choking -Fractures -Bites & stings -Head injuries -Convulsions -Bleeding & dislodged teeth -Burns & scalds -Poisoning -Calling an ambulance To Enroll: Download the application form above or Collect FORM from  -Bendigo Bank, 337 Napier St Strathmore                            -Book Bonding. 942a Mt Alexander Rd Essendon (Essendon Junction)   Complete and return form to the address on the form.
